Hi, i have a vps on godaddy, it have whm and i have some scripts that send emails as notifications for different actions, the thing it's when it's send with the mail() function, takes some time like hours to send it, other times it's instant, and i don't know why someone know what i should look or search to solve this? Regards, Shadow.
this depends on the queue. is it likely that you have a high queue. I hate to tell bad things about anyone, but godaddy is good only for domains. You need to look at other specialists who deal in hosting. one good way is to check the queue for frozen mails. if the server is unable to resolve to the destination, the mail will stay in the queue delaying delivery of new mails. or godaddy might have put up some limitations to make sure that their ips dont get blacklisted for spamming. checkout the one in my signature. its quite good for mailing and hosting, great support and great price
Hi, yes i'm thinking to change of provider but in the meantime, how i can check of the exim or godaddy spam policy are the problem? thanks in advance Regards, Shadow.
Check out the exim cheatsheet at http://bradthemad.org/tech/notes/exim_cheatsheet.php it gives you most of the commands that you need to check on the server. to check if there are any limitations set by godaddy, just raise a ticket with them and ask them.
