I keep getting these mails from this service:

    http://www.majon.cc/safeannounce/

    They say in their details:

"Email advertising and email marketing that sends your exclusive email message to OVER 150,000+ opt-in people for 60.00. "

" All subscribers in the emailing lists have personally requested to be on the lists. All lists are double opt-in so you can be assured you are not spamming anyone!
    "

What kind of mailing list is that?? Who subscribes to such a mailing list??
I wonder if anyone uses this kind of services... It doesn't look very safe to me...

It's crappy un-targeted spam. This is the part where I advise you to run away. ;)

Know at all times who you are mailing to and that they have opted in (agreed) to hear more from you (within reason).

    Hi,

You really need to be careful with ads like this, and from e-mail marketing in general. I own a forum that had a large user-base of folks who signed-up, posted etc.

I sent an e-mail to them once announcing updates to the forum--and received SPAM complaints to my host! My acocunt was suspended until I could approve I didn't SPAM (which I did).

Since that point, I'm reluctant to use e-mail to market anything. I know the money is in the list, but I wonder if it's really worth it in the long run.

    Cheers,
    bri

It's worth it in the long run, you just have to be willing to learn the correct way to do it.
