Looking for a script to add to a site that will grab the email address of anyone that goes to the home page?
Please elaborate on your question? A script to grab emails inadvertly or to allow people provide you with their emails? ·
Do it then, send me a link to your home page and I will navigate to it. If you are able to 'extract' my email address from me and send me a confirmation message, I will post it here as success! I'm curious how that technically is possible.
I want to know, from a technology standpoint (not theory), what makes you think this could be possible? Especially without actually installing (downloading) something from said web page. I'd be willing to bet I could visit your website from varying IP addresses from around the world all without the use of proxy sites and you would never be able to reach out into my Outlook program, or my web cookies, or anything else to be able to extract anything that even resembles an email address.
Good for you! Now send me your page and I'll go navigate to it.... see if you can add me to your spam list.
Extracting email addresses from websites can be done! In fact, it is easy as one, two, three, if you know how to and have the appropriate software. This article on email harvesting by spammers will (hopefully) make you think twice when posting your email address on a public website or opening spam email.
I think you missed the point Larry. The OP wanted to set up his own web page so that he can extract the email address of each site visitor. Which, in theory, may be possible but not using conventional means (ie. without having some sort of trojan forcing a download, etc). Even if possible, how do you know you have captured the visitor's real email address? What if they are using a public computer in a library or someone else's computer? The OP really has no clue what he is asking for I am sure.
