    Hi,

I just wanted to know how much would it cost to develop a elance or GAF type script where the clients can post their projects and service providers can bid for the project.

    The features required are

    - where service providers can signup and display their profiles
    - clients can post their projects
    - service providers can bid or apply for the projects
    - clients can choose the service provider and alot the project
    - Onsite Email facility between buyer and seller
    - Accept completed project (buyer)
    - rate service provider
    - Funds transfer from credit card to escrow and escrow to the service provider's paypal account etc. after deducting our service charges
    - Search for projects
    - Search for service providers

why not buy a commercial script and customize it?

I'd definately recommend a commercial solution. If you get something custom made from the ground up, if you want it done right, you'll end up investing a few thousand dollars.

I recommend you to go for development of script on scratch. You will be able to get some different functionality and that will be able to add new features easily in future. I believe that ready scripts never be a successful website.
