its not a loop, its actually the number of votes to what is correct people tell what they think is right, for above, everybody thinks the same way
Haha. Yeah I read the first few replies and was satisfied. This was an interesting thread though because I have been wondering what that link attribute was. Thanks all.
I was also searching for the rel="external" in google and found out this one..and thanks a lott for the info about this..thank for this discussion..
I think I can safely say rel=â€external†has no meaning at all. The original attribute was introduced as rel=â€nofollowâ€. Wordpress and possibly some other blogging platforms use rel=â€external nofollowâ€.
Thanks for breaking this down for me guys.... I had seen that and wondered, but I guess I never thought to ask... thanks again!
Yes, this is great! I was going to start a topic asking about this issue, but I searched Google instead and the first result was this thread which answered my question. Now I'm happy cause I know a lot of links that I have are definitely valid.
Heh it seems that SE like this thread , so one question to continue it. Will future browsers support rel="external" and open link in new window without any JavaScript intervention ?
Nice info, I always wondered why Matt Cutts used both the tags nofollow and external on the outgoing links. This will surely help a lot
I do not know much or really about this attribute but I was just trying to remove "rel=external nofollow" from my wordpress blog and noticed that the plugin had removed the "nofollow" but "external" ws still there hence it could also mean that when you see "rel=external" it could be the result of a do follow plugin doing its work.
