    Yes,

Broken links can degrade your rankings on a site wide basis.

Now from a search engine spider standpoint, when a broken link is found, that equates to a dead end. If the missing page returns a 404 error, the search engine will identify the page as non-existent and catalog the pages linking to it.

When (not if) a broken link appears on your site or blog it effects 3 things
    1) your visitors
    2) the page/site you are linking to and
    3) the search engine bots

So please keep in mind to check always Broken links of your site

there is below three sites are Best to check your Broken links.
    1) xenulink
    2) dead-links.com
    3) linktiger.com

    Hope.,it will Help You,
    Thanks
    John

That's why you need to check whether there are any broken links in your site from time to time.

Broken links really hurt your SERP standings. You may lose many positions if you have broken links on your site. You will get alerts/warnings on your webmaster tool console if you have broken links in your site. You can use gsitecrawler also to find the broken links. It is a sitemap creation tool, but really helpful in finding the broken links as well.
