Google allows limited use of exclamation points. Have you tested the effectiveness of using exclamation points? Please provide supporting data if you have. Thanks.
Exclamation points are very important in text/graphic ad. I have a personal rule that all my ads has to finish with a exclamation point. If you have a doubt create a version A and a version B! of you ad and test CTR and you will see the difference. here follow some powerful expressions as examples that I can't imagine them without exclamation points: 10 reasons for buy! 7 reasons for buy buy now! buy! Direct buy! Immediate buy! buy in minutes! Last chance to buy buy only until today! Ready to buy? buy today! buy today! buy until 5PM only! buy until tomorrow only! Your chance to buy buy by certified shop buy now? buy still today! hope this helps
I don't have any solid figures for you, but anecdotally it works well for us. I think it has a lot to do with your target market and/or industry though. As a cynical male in his 20's I find exclamation points pretty cheesy, but our demographic seems to eat it up.
I'll play with adding exclaimation points. My niches are primarily business and technology so it may not be that effective.
Don't use your assumption before trying it. Use your assumption after trying it to to evaluate/discover why the results finished in that way. A lot of times in AdWords I found a success path trying crazy things. Report and conversion rate are your friends.
Any thing beautifying a Ad should definitely help, without !, an ad looks little passive offer your services online, Register here
All depends on what you're trying to sell or accomplish. I wouldn't call using an ! in an ad "beautifying" it. Nice spam link btw.
I always set up 3 or more ads for each ad group. Use an exclamation point in some, not in others, and see which ones pull the most clicks AND the most conversions.
An Ohio town years ago changed its name from "Hamilton" to "Hamilton!" I still blow by it on the way to Cincinnati, but I AM talking about it still...
Which ever one has the better muffin to price ratio. I can see hype and don't respond to it. Call by midnight tonight! (Nah). Limited time offer! (Only if their going out of business). I understand a call to action and attention grabbing. I think exclamations will grab some attention but could hurt on serious topics. Get your free ringtone! - Makes sense Buy mainframe computers! - Would hurt the advert.
yes, its time to tbarr60 writes a book "Using exclamation with Adwords" with a big: why executives dont like exclamation for Mainframes and boys do for ringtones
