The problem about it it's getting the starting visitors and most of visitors that you will get will be from search engines and there is always like 5 guys with the same keyword, no matter what article is.

 

I definitely agree. In my opinion writing articles is THE method for free advertising, since it has elements of viral marketing. I remember having written one small article about Safelists some months ago. Since that I still receive signups based on the article.

You can track the distribution of your articles by setting one Google Alert, everytime a copy of your article appears somewhere in the net, you get an e-mail from Big Google. Nice.

 

Articles are definitely a great way to get free long-term traffic.

A quality article on the right topic can be picked up by sites & blogs for months on end. The key is to focus the article on areas of your niche that lack good information.
