Spider-driven search engines such as Google®, Yahoo!® and MSN® use "robots" or "crawlers" to score websites across the Internet. Robots "spider/crawl" each site and "score" pages based on how relevant they are. A website's score or placement within a spider driven search engine is derived from hundreds of variables such as link popularity, density and frequency of keywords in page content, HTML code, site themes and more. You will want to focus many criteria in your SEO strategy to position yourself well among the major search engines. Here are two of the most influential factors:

    1.Link Popularity
Spider-driven search engines use robots to spider websites across the Internet by traveling through links from web page to web page. A website's score or placement within a spider driven search engine is derived from hundreds of variables such as, link popularity, click popularity, keyword density, website themes and more.

Google is the most popular spider-driven search engine. Its database currently has about 4 billion pages indexed and is known for finding the most relevant information. When Google spiders the Web, it finds sites by traveling through links. The more sites that link to you, the more important the engines believe your content to be. You should focus on getting many important sites to link to your site. You can do this in many ways: submit to online directories, exchange links with business partners and industry-related sites, or participate in Link Building.
    2.Page Content
Search engine spiders can only spider through text. They will use the content on your site to determine what your site is about, which in turn will help to decide how highly your site will be ranked for specific keyword phrases when visitors type them into the search engines. For this reason, keyword research is critical to obtaining natural search engine placement and should be at the top of your list when mapping out your SEO strategy.

You will need to know how many people are searching for your keyword phrases and what kind of competition you are facing when attempting to obtain a top spot in the search results. Keyword research, text writing, submissions and site analysis are all included with our search engine optimization packages.
    Why Search Engine Optimization?
Studies have proven that top placement in search engines generally provide a more favorable return on investment compared to traditional forms of advertising such as, snail mail, radio commercials and television. Search engine optimization is the primary method to earning top 10 search engine placement. Learn more about the search engine optimization process and discuss an SEO strategy for your site when you contact a search engine specialist today.

    Paid Listings
Yahoo!'s Pay-Per-Plick (PPC) Program shows paid ads at the top and right of the results pages. websites that show up here bid on keyword phrases and pay Yahoo!® a small fee each time the ad is clicked on. The more you bid per phrase the higher your ad will appear on the results page. Yahoo! PPC is a great way to help drive traffic quickly to your website. You can set a daily budget. When you max out your budget, Yahoo! will pull your ad for the remainder of the day.

A comprehensive search engine marketing campaign may encompass both organic optimization for long-term success and a pay per click campaign for immediate results. Feel free to contact a search engine marketing consultant at 1-877-438-8599. We can help put together a marketing strategy for your site's needs.

Each organic search engine ranking places emphasis on variable factors such as the design and layout, keyword density and the number of relevant sites linking to it. Search engines constantly update and refine their ranking algorithms in order to index the most relevant sites. Other variables that have an impact on search engine placement include the following:

SEO Keyword Research: Choosing the right keywords is critical to SEO success.
301 Redirect: The primary search engine friendly way to redirect your domain name.
Link Popularity: Work to increase traffic by exchanging or achieving links from many high-ranking sites.
Web Themes: Create a content rich site broken down into "themes."

I like where you're going with this post. If you're in online business and marketing it's important to have a PLAN. It's so easy to get distracted for the newbie. If you're new, start small....but take action. Build upon the success.

Week 01: Write an Article (Submit it)
Week 02: Post in Forums / Comment on Blogs
Week 03: Focus on SEO / PPC / etc
    Week 04: Seek JVs

    ** Repeat **

Normally effective link building strategy depends upon various factors like the subject, number of page in your website, content quality and the keywords research. The best approach to get an effective link strategy is to have a mixed approach and try to get links for all the pages of your website. I mean the deep linking is necessary to beat the competition. Shuffle your anchor text for links and track the back links for your website.

    Thanks,
    AG

i dont follow anythng specific, though i cover most of the methods mentioned above. All it matters is to make them look natural to google, Speeding up in 1st stage and doing nothing later on dont helps. Neeed consistent regualr quality link building in any form. Diversify the links.

Building high quality content first has worked well for me. You get real high quality links back and when people actually land on your site they see a lot they're interested in.

Main concept link building is building links., so first of all comes into picture is CONTENT which is called King in SEO, later inter linking strategy which gives googlebot a perfect flow to the entire site..., try to make this things clearly in your site.. later you can go along with the above given steps by other folks...

Content Exchange would be my contribution to the discussion. It's in the form of articles and news posting from other website partners that in turn provides their own to be posted on your own or ask for a link post to your website.

You shouldn't really be sticking to any specific plan such as 'do 100 directory submissions a day' etc. The reason being is that it's just not going to look natural. I know that there will be differences each day in the sense that your links will be indexed won't always be indexed at the same rate but you will still be able to see a pattern.

My advice: certainly have a plan in how you are going to make sure you have a diverse set of backlinks, having backlinks coming from all over the web but then maybe just set yourself a minimum number you do each day but try to vary it a lot. As you go further into your link building then you can assess what you need to work on and areas that you can concentrate on more and change your strategy to fit.

Concentrate on what works! Directories, commenting provide a drip feed, most others are cached more promptly. I would experiment each month.. see what is providing the best results. Something like this anyway.

I use a combination of linkbuilding tools, websites, and methods to build backlinks. All are white or gray hat.

I'm not big on the old methods, such as submitting to directories and commenting, in general. They are still helpful, just not all that much.

Well it's hard to just do the same thing over and over again. Here's what I do, in no specific order and sometimes don't do it at some days.

    1. Write 2-4 posts a week (depends on your style of course) - 30min - 5 hours, making sure it is SEO & Reader friendly (especially reader friendly!)
    2. Tweet about the post, Share it on Facebook, Submit it to Digg, Submit it to StumbleUpon - All are done in 15 minutes
    3. Comment on other similar blogs, PageRank does not matter, they must post minimum 1 post weekly. Make a useful comment, not just some stupid "Thanks". I comment on 1-4 blogs daily
    4. Article Submissions - Meh, not really my favourite, because I don't like giving my artices away, but sometimes, I submit to Ezine and ArticleAlley - the only two, don't waste your time on more. Submit 1-10 articles in one week
    5. Yahoo Answers - I get around 10 backlinks from it daily from answering questions
    6. Forum Signatures - Again, I post because I like helping and being in a community. Anywhere from 0-20 posts a a day

I don't waste my time on link exchanges, getting links from directories like Yahoo!, submitting to DMOZ is a good idea because it takes like 1 month - infinity to get in and it can help (I got in after 1.5 years).

In order to do effective link building you should do the following

Directory submission about 30 each day
forum posting about 10 each day
blog commenting about 20 each day
blog writing, posting about 6 each day
    social bookmarking over 10 networks
    etc etc

While yours is okay, it's a total overkill..6 posts per day? Even 1 post per week is enough. Submitting articles to 30 directories is too much, maximum 10, to only good ones. Social bookmarking doesn't have to be above 10 either, 1-5. Blog commenting, forums - I agree with that.

It's good to find blogs with KeywordLuv, so instead of linking your name to your website, you write your desired keyword.
