Does updating the website made in word-press website to its upgrade version will affect the ranking of website??
Nope. Its not like it changes the permalinks or no-follows your internal links either... If the upgrade affected some of your pages in some way, shape or form (like breaking links or 404ing pages) then its possible.. but to this day I haven't seen an upgrade mess with my links/pages, etc... Something else affected your rankings...
