effect of shared ip on site's PR

I was told that if I have all of my sites on one server , google treat those all server as same website.
and if I interlink them (just once , not linking each site to each one) , then google may deal it as a SPAM!
    I appreciate your suggestions:)

It's quite possible. Most likely any internal linking will be devalued. I doubt it'd be spam though unless you got crazy with it.

Just take some of these stories with a pinch of salt. There is nothing wrong with having sites sharing the same IP and interlinking (IMHO) is a very natural thing to do if you own have a network of relative sites.

Feel free to interlink if the sites are of value and do it for the right reasons, of course if you have a site on the server with the same IP that you link to and that site is used for cloaking/doorway pages & spamming it could have a knock on effect.

There are a lot of knee jerk reactions to stories about recipricol linking and linking to other sites you own. Google knows all the sites I own anyway through my adsense id - if it was of interest to them. I often link between my sites and do recipricol links with others and have never seen any penalty.

If your sites are not spam google will not class them as that just because you interlinked them on the same server/IP

I believe that Google penalizes sites that Interlink unaturally even if they are not on the same IP. If they are on the same Ip it would be worse.

It may be a natural thing to do but Google #1 goal is penalizing spam and any inocent sites that get hurt are treated as "collateral damage".

I agree. I cannot see how having several sites on the same IP address can be a factor. If it were, people with small hosting plans would be hooped. Unless you lease a server or run a dedicated connection to the internet with a static IP or two, you are almost certainly sharing an IP with several other sites. This may also the case with virtual servers.

Most hosting plans run their websites on shared ip's so I cant see how this would be possible.

And if your sites compliment eachother, and you want to link, then its not going to be an issue.

Its when you abuse it that it becomes a problem to Google, then you are asking for trouble.

Shared hosting would be a problem if your sites linked to most of the others and they link to you. In real life that doesn't happen often but if it does Google will treat it with suspission. Again, their goal is to fight spam and they don't care if a couple of small time sites suffer along the way.

there should not be any effect on the PR, if you are on shared ip.
However, if you cross-link heavily between your sites, there is chance of the links being devalued.

Hmm ... I've been knowing a guy with few hundreds of domains on a single IP.

One of his site is pr7 and he linked to other siets with same IP. Couldnt see a penalty there as most of them are pr6.

If you interlink related sites on the same IP address, you shouldn't experience a problem with google, from my experience anyway.

if you have 10 websites on the same IP and all link between each other, then it's spam

if you have 100 websites on the same IP and 3 link between each other then is not a problem

so don't interlink all your sites, that really hurts
