I have a content site and there are several relevant domains that are available that I could pick up and point to my existing website. Is this worthwhile to do? How do the search engines treat multiple domains pointing to the same site?
I have reported my competition as spam to google for doing this. Also, you may be filtered out by the duplicate content rule.
Fair enough. I may pick up the domains anyway as a defensive move but just sit on them rather than pointing them at my site. Cheers.
My dear Friend No problem at all. Why do you think this ? You can link as many domains as you like either relevant or non-relevant. Either from one single ip or from a mutiple ip. Either from a link farm or bad sites, but problem start only when you link them till that nothing will happen. Why beacuse if google give penalty then all owner start building C-grade and bad links to their competitors site and bring them down form serp and keep themselves up and google is not fool that we everyone know. Cool Mate and Enjoy your day
That's right depotgang- links from different Ips may be acknowledeged by Google bu of they share the same Ips, Google might consider as an unethical way of increasing rankings on the SERPs and they are right because you are not really trying to go out an get high-quality link partners and instead just linking to the existing domain you have in your kitty!
