As, I can see, with multiple domain hosting,
I can create unlimited number of mini sites
in same server space which is a life-saver to me.
But I am skeptical about the recognition of these sites.
Will SEs still consider them as separate sites
from different IPs or will I get banned for creating
unrelated web sites in the same place?

Well I take it you are asking that what penalties can Search Engines levy on Websites on the same IP.

Well, if you are linking them to each other excessively, then yes, the Search Engines just might do some penalizing.

Other than that, each domain and subdomain is treated as a seperate site by the search engines. You will not get banned unless you link each one of them excessively to each other. They can all be recognized well, and will have seperate identities.

P.S. Excessive Linking means that for example you have 11 sites on one IP, so on each site you are having links to the other 10 sites, therefore, you will be penalized for this, I think.

they are treated as different on sub domains when they are as such mysite.yourdomain.com but a lot of times are not when done like yourdomain.com/mysite.
on domains themselves yes they are all treated the same as different sites

don't worry about SEs, it doesnt matter if they have enough backlinks, it would't considered as spam
