i really think this is not a good idea because it increases the need for money and removes the time necessary for some of the secondary candidates to break away any opinions on this
I would agree that it increases the need for money which can marginalize some candidates who don't get the free platform that Rudy, Hillary, Barack, Edwards, McCain and Romney get to fundraise. But at the same time, I think that Ron Paul is proof that a solid grassroots candidate can make it at least through the early primaries. They have to be frugal and leverage a lot of free people power, but it is possible. I guess I am undecided on whether or not it is a good thing. It's certainly not as insurmountable as being a 3rd party candidate and buried on the ballots like Perot and Nader were.
