    good question rise. i have not much more knowledge regarding this but i just simple think that if it is helpful then everyone host on google. as per my knowledge it is not useful suppose if is useful then little help in seo not more.

    well there are a couple of them as I see it...
    1. is that if your site is hosted on a server in Germany and it is made for German visitors, you'll get geo tagged better...
    2. pingbacks are better, when your local google comes to your site (I've read about webmasters seeing this effect) that means that google can and probably will check your website more often and deeper..

    my site is hosted in USA and good ranking over Google.com but very poor performance in Google.co.in..

    is it true?

    You need to optimize your site for local search, server location should not be problem.
