Honestly...I do not know why this is news. It is not any of our business just as I do not want to har about who ever actor is having sex with. Does not concern us and never should.
You know I jumped right on this on my blog: We expect our politicians to be holier than thou, yet they are simply men and women just like the rest of us. If 50% of us are cheating, shouldn’t we expect 50% of them to be the same as us ? Americans love to point the finger and say “Oh my God, How could they do that†, yet many of us would be horrified and embarrassed if anyone ever looked in our own nightstand, or underwear drawer. Unfortunately in America, as a public figure, there is always someone willing to sell you out for a buck, and some sleazy newspaper waiting to bring a man down because of his personal life. One of the biggest hypocrites of them all was Newt Gingrich leading the charge to impeach Bill Clinton over his extramarital affair, all the while having an affair of his own.
I expect them to be honest. If it is questioned and there is good evidence of it then man up to it, don't lie. I also agree that it is none of our business. It makes you question to what extent would he go to cover up his lies if he ever got elected?
Just like John McCain, John Edwards cheated on his wife. Actually as far as we know Edwards only cheated on his wife once. McCain did so multiple times. Did you know that McCain married his current wife only 5 weeks after divorcing his first (who was and is disabled and waited for him for the 5 years he was a POW?)
Edwards on Clinton's Lewinsky affair: "I think this President has shown a remarkable disrespect for his office, for the moral dimensions of leadership, for his friends, for his wife, for his precious daughter. It is breathtaking to me the level to which that disrespect has risen." My personal feeling is that if a man cannot keep his word, his bond, his integrity with his own wife, then the one thing I am sure of is that he would lie to me without a second thought. I think Clinton was a good President. I lost all respect for him as a man.
Its more garbage from the media to keep people focusing on peoples personal affairs instead of focusing on the global affairs of our goverments and corporations that fund this kind of balooney media. They're saying: hey, look here! look at edwards personal life so you don't notice us tapping your phones, building prisons everywhere, starting wars and slaughtering millions of innocent people through strategic starvation, while systematically attempting to shut down your internets before you start thinking too much.
