Lots of Indians go to Australia for higher education. Is there anybody who has studied in Australia? How much is the total amount of money required for the same? What problems do foreign students face? Are there any fakes? Is it worth considering the money they spend? Do you have any suggestions for people planning to do an UG/PG course in Australia? Let's discuss it here.

Cypherrus, could you shed some light on the cost-factor and how an aspirant should go about the process?

I have a cousin that is studying in Australia.

If you can afford it, I think it is a great opportunity to try the different lifestyle.

I would recommend Melbourne as a great place to study.

    Pros

    - accommodation and transport is affordable
    - already has a large base of international students from vietnam, india, indonesia, china
    - wide range of food and entertainment
    - lots of schools and universities in the metropolitan area.
    - sporting events (aus open, f1, melbourne cup, afl, cricket)

    Cons

    - education can be expensive
    - isolated from the rest of the world (except for new zealand which is pretty close)
    - very cold in winter
