A .org link doesn't have any particular weight, as far as i know. A .org domain is as easy to register as .com .

.edu are fairly easy to gain, many forums and blogs using this extension. There are plenty of sites out there (and even on this forum) willing to sell links on there page for $$$.

    Thanks,

    Dave

.gov is nearly impossible to get.

.org? I didn't know it even is worth more than average. I don't know what you guys are talking about. Heck, if they are worth so much you might as well buy a bunch of domains yourself then.

.edu you can get a million of them. Just look for edu guestbooks, blogs, and forums and you'll never run out of them to get links.

.ORG has no special significance whatsoever as it can be freely registered for any purpose.

As has been said, links from .GOV sites are much harder to obtain than from a .EDU, so generally speaking if a search engine does assign extra weight to specific to backlinks based on their TLD, I would assume that a link from a .GOV site is worth more than a comparable link on a .EDU site.

I remember reading on matt cutts blog that the tld doesnt make a differrence. My advice, go for the qulity of the site and page, rather than the TLD.
