As we know, Google gives a higher value for links from .edu & .gov domains, these kind of domains cant be bought, so:

    does google give a higher value to domains like: .edu.be | .edu.es | .edu.fr | .gov.uk | .gob.es ... ???

    Thanks ;)!

I wouldn't think so. The only way I would see links on .gov and .edu sites having increased value is that it is less likely they are advertisement ads as colleges and governments are less likely to sell ad space on the sites.

I really dont think Google gives higher PR to those sites. Its just a matter of how good your site is listed in Google, how many backlinks you have, etc.

Its just such official sites tend to have quality related backlinks as well as liking to related sites.

I would not think edu.uk would add anything.

In UK we use ac.uk for education

shouldn't be the same, probably a bit less than .edu but hopefully more than a .com:)

I don't have a source but it makes sense. If they give more weight to .edu & .gov, it should work this way as well

Google does give more weight to .edu & .gov's because they have a high Trust Rank. Links from these entities give your own site a higher Trust score. The only proof I have is experience with seeing the sites I've optimized get increased rankings in the SERPs. If you can buy a .edu.uk url then no..it won't have the same result as a traditional .edu. There is no implicit trust built into anything you can purchase.

.gov & .edu have always (for me) been seen as "authority" sites but i have a link on 3/4 different .gov.uk websites and it hasnt helped me one bit, maybe just given me an extra couple of visiters.

.edu and .gov links are gold...links from the domains mentioned in the quote above, all other factors being equal, are no different than a link from a .com, .org, etc.

So my goal is clear. Move to a lightly populated district and run for the house of representatives. Put a link to my websites on my HOR profile page and I'm gold. Sweet. :) If anyone wants to help finance my campaign, I'll link to your sites too once elected. That's my platform too, high powered .GOV links everyone who donates to me :)
