I recently made some accounts on edu links and left my link either on forum signatures or on profiles. I assume that my links haven't been indexed by google or google is just not counting them. How to intimate google to count those links?
As I already mentioned that there were no backlinks so whats the reason to check. The thing is that what should I do to get them indexed and let Mr. Google know that i have these backlinks.
Either ping the urls or let the Mr. Google decide itself if the links are worth considering. Wait for a while...(couple of days atleast)
If you want Google to index your profile on the .EDU sites, you need to find the exact URL to your profile. Many times it looks something like this: http://URL.com/user/42187 or http://www.url.com/member/74971/ Find that URL and create social bookmarking links to that page. I say social bookmarking links because it is a quick and easy way to make back links to the profile URL. Submit the URL to about 10 sites such as StumbleUpon, Delicious, Digg, Any Pligg sites (which are digg clone sites) and more. If you have been doing SEO for a while and your social bookmarking profiles are active, it will take just a few days for Google to index the new bookmarks you created which in turn will allow Google to find your social media profiles with the links you created in your signature. Tada, you just sped up the indexing process of your EDU profiles. I hope this helps. Thanks. -Nathan
Yeah I agree with FISHMAN33. By doing those you'll get a higher percentage that those links will be indexed, those links will weight more since it has backlinks pointing to them and even if some wouldn't be indexed, at least they will be crawled by google and will still count.
