I'm not necessarily disagreeing with what he said (the juries still out) but if .edu links were more valuable, would he tell you that? Of course hes going to say they weigh the same to keep spammers from getting another leg up
Authority Domains are the best source of GREAT link equity.. and the probability of a .edu and .gov domain being an authority domain is much higher than a pr 6 submityourlink.com ... Most , of the .edu domain are authority domains... Almost all .gov are authority domains... and they are usually relevant... since a .edu portal will have the most relevant content in many niche, take for example health ... or a link from the electrical enginering website of MIT to a Telecom niche Blog.... ah,,,
I only think it would be better if it was from a quality edu page and not some student or staff trying to make a quick buck by selling links on a useless page
