There's so many cool themes out there, but I'm having trouble editing some of them.
I know the coding can be edited in the "editor" feature of wordpress,
but are there easier ways to edit the template?

What do you guys do...outsource it, figure out the coding, etc?

I dont think there's an easy way to edit it an existing them but to edit it on the php/css file itself if. you're willing to spend $ on IDE try using adobe dreamweaver or if you want free you can download notepad ++

Most of the times I do it myself, but if it gets complicated I'll either outsource, or search in Google for help.

Have you tried firebug, bizjam55? It's a handy tool to edit the theme elements on your browser.

If you're not familiar with wordpress themes, take a look at the wordpress codex too, it has a lot of information regarding template tags and how the various template files are used. Personally I use notepad++ for all of my wordpress/html editing. It has all the features I need and is free of charge :)

    Take a look at Artisteer - http://www.artisteer.com/
Costs $50 - but lets you create and edit wordpress themes (and HTML pages) at the click of a button

Coding is little bit complicated thing, but you can use Thesis Theme to eliminate such issues.

I agree with Tech Maish.Thesis is the one of best available wordpress themes.
Best way is that you learn few basic of php, javascript and css instead of outsourcing. You may have to edit your template lot of times, little learning won't harm.
