Editing SMF forum script templates????

    I'm looking through the files in the template directory and I can't find where I can make changes to place som ads i thr header or footer.

    I'm using Simple Machines Forum script with the default template.

    Can anyone point me to where I can find the templates for the header and footer. I'm looking at index.template.php file that says its the main template and displays the header and footer, but i cant find where i can place some hard-code to display adsense or banner ads.

    Found a mod at SMF site that handles this.

    But am having troubles getting it to install. Am asking for assistance on the SMF forum site. No need to respond to this post here.
