Can you be more specific.....will editing the blogger HTML and adding keywords to the META tag actually help bring more traffic??? Does blogger allow us to do this?

Not sure how to do it for blogger or if it will bring extra traffic but i believe anything that adds to defining what your page is about is helpful.

I will only tell you that meta tags are history, meta tags and code optimizing used to be the major things when optimizing for Google and other similar major search engines like Yahoo, MSN or Ask.com. But this past simple already.

By popular belief, meta tags are not even helping you "--" that much for your site. The only meta tag that could help is the description tag, which will help you make the site more friendly for your visitors, but wont have ANY effect on the search engines since they are picking some text from the site if you havent added description tag. However, you may still put the meta keywords in.

What you want to do, is optimize your content, and write good and revelent titles. In addition, use the keywords in the anchor texts when doing linkbuilding. Regarding the content I must add that the search engines are becoming smart, and they are looking at your content more human-like. They are using Latent Semantic Indexing to pull out the most revelent data from all the sites out there, and create some model for this topic called ContentDNA, they will compare your site content with the ContentDNA and rank accordingly. This is pure mathematics, why bother hiring expensive content writers when you can turn an average article into the perfect one for search engines by optimizing it with Latent Semantic Optimization or LSO.

Thank you for your very detailed reply......I think maybe I this thread was meant for you to explain to us about LSO! Hopefully, your answer will help anyone else reading this thread.
