Editing Many Files

Is there a program that will go through many different files and replace text with other text in all the files? I don't exactly know how to look a program like this up so I decided I'd post a question and see if any of you knew of a program that does this.

Any texteditor will do it, like textpad. Also, Dreamweaver has a built in replace in files fuction.

I meant that will replace text in many files at once instead of having to go through each file. As far as I know most text editors don't do that. lol

Write a program to do it. I have seen it done but am not in position to do it myself.

Edit Plus will do it. Just open all the files you want, do a search and replace on all open files.

Ultraedit has a find and replace in files function, you choose the folder and it does the rest recursively.

Try Ultraedit. You will end up buying it. It does everything you want + it makes coffee and goes to the bathroom for you. I've gone through four paid upgrades now, and I've gotten a couple for free too. (if they upgrade within 12 months of your purchase, it's free)
