It would have to be within a certain timeframe (I think 6 hours).

Just post an update or have a link to a page that has availibility (which you can edit)

The problem with allowing people to edit posts is they can change the terms after there are bids which will cause anarchy

    Thanks for your post.

The idea of being able to edit a post is not new. It has been tried and tested and well at such places as dnforum.com, namepros.com, domainstate.com and the list goes on and on.

I believe DP has a great forum, but not allowing to edit posts is a huge problem for folks that have hundreds of domains for sale.

Except this isn't a heavily moderated forum so there isn't a structure in place to watch every post to make sure major components aren't changed.

There is no reason to add the edit function after the time limit so I truly doubt you will see it.

Nintendo had a creative solution (and no, I wouldn't want the edit time permanent/extended) by putting everything in text in an image, updating it as and when needed, and then including the image. That way it doesn't get indexed either which might prevent future hassles.

That is an excellent idea although I would suggest you keep your terms, conditions, length of auction, etc in regular text. Otherwise you may lose bids or sales.

    Exactly.

Nintendo didn't use it in an auction actually, it's for his AdSense FAQ so he can update the first page of the thread instead of deeper.

The buyer is always advised to take a screendump anyway so he can prove what was on offer and what wasn't.
