Editing A Free Web Template

This is a question I've always had in my head, but want to confirm it for sure. I downloaded a free web template from a free web templates site. I plan on changing some of the aspects of the template (colors, fonts, etc). The template is released under the "Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 License". The question I was wondering about is am I able to modify, or remove the link-back to the authors website at the bottom of the template? Nothing is stated on the license or in html comment code at the bottom saying not to.

Really the only requirement of the CCA is that you have to link somehow to the author or say who did it. It's like citing a source in a paper.
