Firstly, why get a template if you've no way of implementing them. Secondly, what type of template is it? If it is a dreamweaver template (.DWT) then you'll need to buy dreamweaver.
You can edit a page, by right clicking it, and opening it with a text editor, replacing all the dummy text given.
