Edit pictures online - finally ranking on page 1 in Google

    Here's why you should never neglect basic on page SEO:

    I just noticed one of my sites, http://www.500images.com/ is ranking high in Google (U.S) servers.

    It's #7 for the term edit pictures
    http://www.google.com/search?q=edit+pictures for a few weeks now.

    In fact, it's just 1 site below Google's Picasa Software http://picasa.google.com which is really neat.


    Visitors seem to love the simplicity of the site - they can easily upload, edit pictures, turn them black and white, rotate, and upload quickly. The site is simple and doesn't have too much advertising. And it works!

    All I did is a simple SEO cleanup on the site, mainly adding meta tags, h1, etc, which were never added before.

    It's funny how sometimes simple edits can often be forgotten but can yield great results.

    Yes, some times they make some differences, I already tried some minor edit into a website page and perform some activities at website, and you know, that website out of the sand box and gained PR 2 in 1 week.

    Good thing my host makes daily backups! All is sorted and upgraded.
    Could it be a jealous competitor? I hope not.

    Thanks. Yeah, I like the simplicity of it. It's not good for albums, but people seem to prefer it for quick edits and hosting.

    Would a brand new design really boost traffic? It could for some sites but I'm not so sure about this one.

    I'm reminded of markus' plentyofish.com dating site everyone loves. Simplicity and functionality wins over design.

    I changed the fonts a bit and added this short text on top for seo.

    by posting your URL in this thread you hurt yourself. Now digitalpoint ranks above you for the term, bc of this thread.

    You should always use tinyUrl or similar service, if you dont want a post with your URL to get ranked.
