eCPM just jumped - am I the only one

    Hey All,

Sorry for this "me too" post but has anyone seen their eCPM jump in the last couple of days - I am of course very happy to see it almost triple and my earnings double as a consequence, but everything else is "within normal limits" as they say... strange.

I dunno, maybe my paranoia is getting the best of me :)

    Ta,

    Steve

I saw a huge increase in eCPM during the Jan'06 but now things are back to normal.

That's what happened with me too. Now though, it's not "back to normal", but not as high as January.

I'm starting to graph my progress in the 3 months that I've been using AdSense. A sample of my graph is here: http://www.unanimocracy.com/02-06-06.jpg

So as not to violate Google's TOS, I removed what the actual numbers are. The purple line is a running total of 30-day earnings. This number is going up nicely from day 1 (December 1st or so). The light blue line reflects the 7-day average of earnings (take the past 7 days and average them) multiplied by 30. See the dip at the end? That's the last week of January, but it came right back up. You see another dip in light blue at the end of December -- correlating the end of month drop we've been seeing comments on.

The dark blue line at the bottom is my daily earnings, which is tracking upwards, and the white line is the trend average, which is also tracking upwards.

Using my graphs and spreadsheet, I can see what is working and what isn't working. In the long run, as long as the trend is upwards, you can't look at any one day or one week and be happy or concerned. The overall view is the most important one!
