Stay away from Magento, it's not good unless you're willing to spend big bucks for their more expensive enterprise solution and they have very little and very poor support. Never tried os commerce. Personally I've had the most success (and less difficulty) with wordpress based shopping cart plugins and themes that support it. Most of the stuff for wordpress is open source and 100% customizable and it's very popular which means active support forums should you run into difficulty
