    Hey guys,
Im not sure whether this is web design worthy but lets see if you can help me on this:

I'm looking to create an sms system where users can instantly buy products (referenced on paper leaflets/brochures or an internet site) on their mobile phones. They pruchase them by sending an sms.

Ie. send an sms (with product and "address" details) to a certain (company) mobile number and the user's phone is charged accordingly. Basically like ecommerce without the internet. I want to reach a larger audience and feel this would be a nifty way of doing so.

Does anyone know some suitable company I could work with to achieve this.
Your help will be very much appreciated,
    Thanks,
    Andy

    Hi,

I think I can help you with that but I have a question - you won't be using a website?

It is technically feasible to do it; you need to create your 'shop' list of sms ports to send sms to. Or use one port, with different sms commands; this is all technicality. The problem that you will face lies on the actual charge, and you need to check what is the maximum value an sms can bear, in the country that you will run this. I just can't think that anyone will pay to buy something that would be charged using sms that worths $5 or more. Besides, your idea may also face problems in that the majority of cell phones are prepay accounts, not contractual, which means that they need a refill, and usually they do not have such large amounts of money into their balance.
