Ecommerce Solution for Digital Downloads

I am in the process of creating a piece of software, and I need an ecommerce solution that will allow me to sell digital downloads, maybe with some sort of license management, vasts amounts of themes or at a simple way to make themes.

I do not need categories or highly complex structures, the store will only have around 20~ items, so i just want to list all the softwares on one page.
I prefer Free or One time only paid scripts.

I must have the ability to customize the source code if I need to.

Must also support paypal and credit card payments(both one time and subscriptions).
Affiliate support would be nice as well.

    Budget: $100

I've used WordPress/Woocommerce with success, though I'm not positive about licensing. Actually upon further inspection, they have a software licensing addon for sale. Just search for "woocommerce software add on"

It's all openly editable and I'd use it again if I was selling downloads.

    Good luck!

If you have Wordpress based website, then i too recommend Woocommerce plugin, that will support multiple payment options including Paypal.

I would use WooCommerce if you have some Wordpress experience; if not just grab a Fetchapp account. I'm using Fetchapp for mp3 delivery and PDF delivery and am very satisfied. They have support for licensing and are pretty cheap (billing is based on disk space required and includes unlimited bandwidth).

I suggest the Shopp Plug in. It's works great and bolts on to most themes.

Not a bad idea to go with an e-commerce shopping cart and then afterwards add-on an extension/plug in. The big shopping carts all have 100+ themes, have very helpful showcases, and easy checkout pages.

Another vote for WooCommerce - I have been using it for selling ebooks. It has a special product type for virtual/downloaded goods.

I have previously had success with e-junkie, though their UI totally sucks. Unlimited downloads and pretty inexpensive. it's easy to give away coupon codes too.

EasyDigitalDownloads is aimed exclusively to electronic items, its free, and you can buy addons for it to take care of affiliate programs etc when you need them.

There are plenty of shopping carts what will do a perfect job. If I were you, I would build a store on WP, then look for the right affiliate plugin (something like WordPress Affiliate Platform Plugin), and finally see what shopping carts your affiliate plugis has built-in integrations with.
