What shopping cart software have you tried and what's your feedback on them? I'd like to hear feedback on those that are fully customisable. Does anyone have any experience in any of these and have any comments on them: Oscommerce, Agora or Cube Cart
Played with Oscommerce but found it hard work to do little mods Cube Cart is my favourite easy to use and mod , there forum has good members who help if stuck Agora - never used it The main thing with carts is check the gatway payments that they support , as this is very important Cube Cart is the best for me
fro asp cart,i used vp-asp. rich features..lots of gateway, very good customer services. skin/templates for look & feel. check out vp-asp
Hi Oscommerce is what we use as i find it to be one of the best free software out there. Great support forum and easy to to design, plus a great selection of mods as well. We have tryed most of the free ones, php and cgi base shops. Al
I didn't like any of those "stores in a box" and OScommerce made my site look a bit like everyone elses. I decided to use good old html and then add the cart at www.romancart.com and use Worldpay as a PSP. Its made everything real easy and the interface and support at Roman Cart is superb. (they are like mals in the US , only better). Of course I always tend to lean towards simplicity as I do my own link management. (never liked the automatic ones)
hi, we use cube great code clean modular works out of the box. Needs seo / sem but it's dead easy to adjust. The version we started with didn't have multi currency but it was easy to tag that on. It is multi language which is what we where after for the long run. Cheers M
we use oscommerce for all jobs. I haven't had any problems or heard any complaints yet. It's powerful and versatile.
My question is which one is more secure? My host used to have a one click install of os commerce but now it supports zencart. I had a client contact me about setting up shop for them and I want to make sure I do them right!
wow. You dug up an ancient thread here. If you look closely you'll notice that zencart is built over oscommerce. I'm not sure what that tells you though, zen cart may have osc's problems, or may be an improvement of it. Either make sure you learn code well and simply don't rely on the code of other's for your client's security.
I have used OSCommerce and do so for some of my customers too. I think it is an excellent software, and you can get it customized how you want it. //Andreas
We used osCommerce with several projects and everytime we have problems with design customization. osCommerce is very difficult to use and to customize design you should hack codes. Also everytime you change design of your web site you should hack shopping cart PHP codes . Very difficult, if you are not a good programmer...
We use oscommerce. Great software and excellent community. You can view one of my clients stores here: www.hookahshop.co.uk (this is using oscommerce)
I am about to try using Virtuemart with Joomla. It is easy to use but I am really focusing on security for both Joomla the store and the server.....any advice would be really helpful
