I have a question for any of the e-commerce gurus that run ads on craigslist.

If you have an e-commerce store that ships everywhere in the US, can you put an ad on each states classifieds?

    thank you

I would think that as long as you are posting within the CL guidelines, then you should have no problems. If you will be posting multiple ads for several products, then you'll surely require a multitude of accounts with them. Chances are that you don't have the time to do all the posting that you will need to get the kind of return you're seeking, so be ready to invest in some posters along with those ads.

You can post on multiple cities - if your using the same account at CL can track your ads.
You could always bypass this by just registering several accounts with various e-mails. But spamming duplicate ads through multiple cities raises RED flags - be warned.

if you have time and if your store offer something special, you should try this. bu i think first, you should create multiple ads to be posted.

Just be careful to not put your actual store URL in the ad or CL will take them down. Happened to me last week.

I think I have seen people put an image into the ad that has store information and the URL but not linking to the store.

    Good Luck.

To be sure, read their guidelines about posting. I think they have a maximum no. of post per cities in order to avoid spamming.

Yes, you can. Just be careful to not be too spammy or you will get banned.

Hire some outsourced labor for $3 an hour and have them post for you.

CL is getting more picky about what ads they will accept. Even a legitimate ad could be deleted. And then you have to go back and repost after jumping through the various hoops.

Read the TOS very carefully to stay within their guidelines, otherwise they will ban you and delete your ads.

If you notice, they are starting to charge for certain categories in different metro areas?

All good suggestions, but the best is to read the guidelines. Also, contact support for their input. There is no risk there, but it can save you a lot of time, and keep you clean with CL. The ultimate goal for CL is to see you succeed with their system, and the guidelines are usually not too stringent. Every business wants what their customers and wants, as well as protect them from being abused.
