eCommerce integration

I’ve been selling surplus industrial electronics on eBay for several years now. I want to set up an eCommerce website with all 2400+ listings I have on eBay and be able to sync the inventory across both channels. Since everything I sell is surplus, I buy whatever is available from whoever has something to sell. If an item runs out of stock, I can’t call a vendor and say I need more, so I can go months or years without getting more of that item. So, I need a master inventory database that can keep track of such items and the SKU #, vendor, price paid, etc. of each one. I also need to be able to import all of my eBay listings into my eCommerce site, because I just don’t have the time to relist 2400 different items. Once its setup, I want to list one time to eBay and have that listing pushed to my eCommerce site. I can’t find a solution that covers everything I need and don’t know if everything I want is available, but any help is appreciated.

You can do this at a full on enterprise level with Magento and this http://m2epro.com/

I typically say its a piece of cake but it requires something above a 3 dollar shared hosting account and bit of elbow grease. Its entirely doable though and certainly the soundest way to go about things.

I would have a few comments about speed and a few other things but you can get a pretty sweet magento theme that is suitable here without having to reinvent the wheel. http://themeforest.net/category/ecommerce/magento

If you have things in a CSV file you can also import everything in one shot into Magento. I use a third party app from sourceforge or github. I forget where it lives. Its a tad technical but entirely doable without much fuss.

    hope that helps,
    Nigel

Thanks for the info. I looked into Magento Enterprise and it's out of my price range right now. Are there any more affordable solutions? A good inventory program and the ability to sync my inventory in eBay and my eCommerce store are the most important features for me right now. I can get by with having to list to each channel.

You dont require magento enterprise. You use the free one and you wind up with an enterprise level solution.

What I was saying was that you use Magento and you get an amazing site. The plugin I listed is free as well and does exactly what you need.

http://www.magentocommerce.com/download you require the community edition.
