Hi there I have been thinking about the best e-commerce strategy for selling videos online? Here are my options: 1. Sell them as a DVD, ship, post and deliver them. 2. Sell them as a download file once payment has gone through. 3. Membership lounge for a paid subscription The only issue with Option 2. is; the files are too big to download for full quality, web page could crash when downloading a video file, etc. What do you think? Many thanks in advance CHEERS
All three options are good.. the one to choose depends on the type of videos and size. If its very large.. the first is the best. if it can be converted to streaming flash videos.. membership option is best. if the file size is small download after payment is good.
Cool! Thanks for that. Do you have any examples how this would look? Yes, I know how to build a flash video playlist, I guess it's just linking it to the carts/store products. My client is looking at going with option 2 allowing the user to purchase these videos, however, with little experience in E-Commerce it is hard to say if this is a safe option. By the way, I am using Wordpress 2.9.2, and I stumbled across this plugin called "WP E-commerce" . I haven't tried it out yet, but once I get enough feedback, then I can make my decision.
Yes you can use wordpress plugin.. but may need some customization in showing preview videos, and download link visibility expiry etc. All the best.
It also depends on your market. They may prefer the DVD's via snailmail. You could test all three ideas and see which sells the most or visit your competition that has been selling similar products for a long time and see how they do it. Also, you may be able to set a higher price for the hard copy of the DVD's versus the ones delivered online. Hope that helps. Paul paulmcgraw.com
for best selling videos online through ecommerce or online , you have to convert your video in PPT form, by it your video ll shows all it features watever it based on ,, by that viewers can watch all the features of your products...and upload in youtube first.......
hi, for no 2 you can use 3rd part hosting , yes but when its comes too large file you have to do research what people likes .
Create an ecommerce store.... If the videos are your own property use kunaki.com to produce them and snailmail them or offer a download. You could offer two prices i.e $10.99 download, $19.99 DVD delivered. Regards Chris
