Hi! Request you to review my Ebooks with Resell Rights website and suggest me changes so that I can make it better. URL = http://www.ebookswithresellrights.info/
The domain name is too big. The site looks ok but it needs a more modern design, try using wordpress if you look for a blog structure of the site.
I am using wordpress CMS only. I had chosen the domain name since it contains the keywords ( ebooks, resell rights ) which has got lot of searches.
The longer keyword URL is good for getting quicker Google placement for those keywords. Where this may be bad is branding/memorability. Long term with excellent seo and link building, a shorter "brand-able" URL would be better, but I wouldn't sweat over it with the type of site you have. Now if you were making a competitor for YouTube or Amazon, you should be sweating alot over a URL like the one you have. Regarding the site layout/design, it seems okay. With the amount of information you have, you are probably fine for now, but as your grow your site, you should look into getting a design that is a bit more capable of handling a larger amount of information. Get rid of the Calendar and Meta widgets. I would also suggest getting rid of the Archives widget. Given the purpose of your site, you shouldn't need any of those on the page. I would also suggest removing the dates from the theme. Seeing a date just lets the user know how old the eBook is and I can see no other practical reason for you to want your site's users to know the date of a post. If you want the eBooks to actually be circulated because you have a revenue stream built into them (your links in the .pdf's), you don't want someone coming to the site and passing eBooks over because they can easily see that the eBook is at least as old as the date you posted. "Monetize better". There are lots of good products you can push on people looking to make money selling eBooks. Get a newsletter set up and offer a free "premium" eBook (preferably related to making money from selling eBooks) for sign-ups. The eBook doesn't have to really be "premium" in terms of content but it is an incentive to sign up that they feel they can't get without taking the action of signing up. A phrase like "Get this premium <product type>, only available to newsletter subscribers" when you are offering something free works wonders. Throw in another sentence about how you use your newsletter to send updates about new free eBooks you add to the site so they know why they need to sign up and you should see a decent conversion. The newsletter will also help with the branding issue, allowing you to send emails with products, for extra revenue, and let you easily send updates to your readers when you update your site with new content. Pack a .txt file in with the eBooks in the .zip package. Have the .txt file briefly explain that the eBook was downloaded from your site and that you site offers free eBooks with resell rights. As people re-distribute, some won't bother to remove the .txt when they sell or give it away. Your site url will be in front of people who have never been to your site.
Thanks a ton for your valuable tips. I have made changes with respect to removing Archives, META, Calendar and Date of post. Will definitely work on other points suggested by you.
