It seems like most ebooks are crap and are mostly filled with stories of how the writer(s) became successful.
I would agree to that and this is why only books that are by well-known experts are worth your money but most of them are getting more and more expensive now. Got your DTAlpha toolbar by Stephen Pierce? Get it now since 2008 will be the year when all the good things launching. Stomper Net is showing a great pre-launch buzz on their coming products as well.
I was considering typing up my university notes into Ebooks, but I don't know how well they'd sell. If students wont study from their own textbooks then why would they study from my notes? It would probably be more worht my time to just photocopy them. But the thing is that anyone, anywhere, can put together an ebook and try to sell it. You could even make an Ebook that only lists every number from zero to one million and try to sell it. Some netwrks wont accept you, but you can still sell it yourself. That's why reputations on the internet are so important.
That is why I could never get into selling clickbank ebooks so many of them just look like scams or a waste of money. Made me feel guilty to promote them so I stopped.
I agree there is a lot of crap out there. But there are also a lot of really good products out there too. The best thing to do is read reviews in forums like Digital Point or just use your common sense. For example if the title of the ebook is "How I made $5000 A Week From Adsense" then the chances are it's worthless. Also remember that the cost of ebooks can be quite low compared to physical books.
Yes it is true. They are crap. And any ebook seller who promises you that he made millions is lying because no one sells SECRETS for a few petty dollars because otherwise it would not remain a secret. And for his own business to survive he needs to keep it a secret. So be wary.
