I am totally new to the business aspect of the internet, so I have some general questions for you. I am currently writing an ebook on an niche (not new) and it is not about making money. Should I continue because by what I hear the ebook market is just as bad as the real estate market now? Advice would be appreciated.

    Secondly are proxies still profitable?

    Please and thank you.

I cant give an ideal answer but why not try anyway, you will know for sure then, you could advise others how to avoid something, could result in an income, it wont be wasted time and you will have more experience.

    Move on, dude!

If you did your research (are there people interested and will they buy..?) and know what you are writing about why struggle? Providing quality content and giving people real solutions to their problems will never be out of date...

No hurt in trying right. I say go for it, as long as it's quality and useful for your market.

There is a lot that goes into whether something becomes profitable. Is there a hungry market? Is your marketing appropriate? Are you optimizing for the right keywords? Is the price right? Is the hungry marketing buying or looking for freebies? Is there enough traffic? Does the niche lend itself to blogging, social networks, articles or will you be doing paid adverts like PPC or paid ezine ads?

If you spend more in advertising than you'll earn then the point is moot.

Another option is to write it - if the research is good - and if it doesn't sell pack it with affiliate links and give it away. For instance, if you have a good ebook in skin care and it isn't selling you can use it to direct people to specific products that work well to clear acne, give a more youthful appearance or a good line of make up.

    Have a GREAT day!

Saying e-books are inflated is like saying magazines in the stores are inflated.
