so i'm thinking of writing an ebook and hosting it on my own website. how can i implement it so that people can't share the download link once a person has bought the ebook once.?
If you use Paypal, you can redirect your buyers to the download links or page once they have made the payment. For automated solution, DLGuard which is mentioned by Jamesyfws2 is a good one. Or if you want a cheaper alternative, you can use E-Junkie. They have a promotion code where you can get a free trial up to 4 months. - Dynashox -
yes I agree with dynashox on ejunkie a quick google for 'ejunkie coupon' will return the code you need it also links in and processes your received payments through paypal so the money is yours straight away.
Hey don't get bothered of someone selling your ebook using your download link. You just concentrate on your sales. If you want to protect your link there is a pretty way. eg: www.howcanu.com
Implement the download script which is called IPN script - which doesn't reveal the download link to users and they are automatically forwarded to the download location - after successful payment. This is the tried and test method Hope it helps...
Hi there! Just read your post..you shouldn't be too concerned with that..Especially if you are a newbie to creating eBooks. Allowing people that purchase your eBook to send to other friends will establish creditability for you(getting your name out there). You need to start out with FREE eBooks first so that you can establish your name, brand, and creditability. Once your name is out there meaning people are talking about the valuable information you supplied them for FREE they will be supportive customers in the future. I have been taught by great mentors and the first thing is to give..give..give of valuable content then the business will come..Good Luck!!
Worry less about people sharing and more on increasing sales. If somebody has bought your ebook it's almost impossible to stop them sharing. Put your affiliate links into free ebooks and encourage people to give them away. Like the books I am giving away - the more people who get them, the more potential customers you will have in the future.
@openagain~~ DO NOT focus on the number of pages. Your main goal is to supply your customer with valuable content. Whatever topic your eBook is on make sure what you're talking about is overly INFORMATIVE!! The more number of pages in your eBook will not qualify it as being a GOOD eBook but it's how valuable the information in it is. Say that you you write an eBook that was only a paragragh long but the information in it could help (your customer) generate an extra $1200 a month, the more succes you will have. I suggest you take time to think and ask why you are writing eBooks. If your answer is MONEY then this is the wrong path for you. The internet is a powerful tool to make money but the first objective is helping someone and giving valuable information/products and or service afterwords the money will follow. Remember CONTENT is KING!! ~~~Hope This Helps!!~ To Your Success
