ebook pages and SEO? New to this

I guess this is a very general question.
Is this something worth doing, optimizing a page for SEO with an ebook for sale?
Does Clickbank have a search feature to check how many people are selling a particular ebook? Is it grav? Or do you write each Clickbank publisher to find out?

I know how to build a site, build content into the page to use for SEO and keywords, or maybe it is already supplied, but just wondering if this is a profitable venture, or if it extremely compettivie.

I do not know how people find ebooks, if they stumble upon them through a google search, or if you must build a mailing list, do people buy ebooks just by looking at a website, or do you need to build a list for sure?

If anyone has any experience on this please share it, before I knew anything about adsense, I thought all I had to do was build a page with high paying keywords and adsense would take off, but I was wrong and barely made a few dollars at the start, you of course need to build traffic, etc.

    Thanks!

Yes, using SEO for the targeted keyword gets you quality targeted traffic who will buy your ebook.

If you want to sell an ebook, find out how affiliates will promote it. I have detailed it in my free report so that you understand the different ClickBank stats.

I believe you have... indeed... asked a very general question :) However - OF COURSE seo is worth doing. Competitiveness depends on the product. Are you refering to landing pages or your own product? In either case there are tons of ways to be found, and tons of ways to promote your pages, this forum is filled with them :)

The most common and successful is PPC - you'll get very targeted buying traffic.
    Write articles
    Blogs/pings
    Directories
    Social networking sites
    Video marketing
    Social bookmarking sites
    Natural organic SEO
    Text links
    Banners
    Ribbons
    classifieds
    WOM
    Offline adveritising (print,radio,tv...)

If you are launching the product, your main focus should be to narrow in on your most successful campaigns and heavily attract/go after superaffiliates, and watch them work your product. If you are an affiliate pushing the ebook for commission, you use any/every possible tactic you can.

Think bigger, it's still a business not an ebook monetization formula...

Best of luck with your ventures.

SEO is always worth it. Start out with low-competition products which have potential, don't go for the high-hyped items. Do some keyword-research and incorporate those KW in your sales-page.

Adhere to standard principles if you go the PPC route: This is, add "contact us", "privacy policy" and the usual stuff to get good min CPC and quality score.

    Thanks for all this!

I also had a question about how the page works, or what a hoplink is.
To SEO a site with a digital product, I do not know if I need to write my own pitch page for the digital product or if Clickbank has already done it for you.

Would I be referring traffic to my page and creating a link with my clickbank ID, or do I create a page and use the product's pitch as it is already written?
Or am I just creating my own page which is a link to the existing pitch page, when I am embedding my clickbank ID#? ie http://AFFILIATE.PUBLISHER.hop.clickbank.net
Is a hoplink a page itself, or is it just a link I put on my own page?

I looked up a "Rocket Spanish" -- a spanish course and there were audio testimonials, is this something clickbank only shows me or can I use this?

a hoplink is just a link to some other publisher's page with your ID so you can get commission.

The hoplink with your ID you use to promote another product/site, using the link on blogs or in reviews.

Many publishers of CB products provide promo-material like banners and often dont mind copying their sites...so you can make your OWN site hosted by yourself to promote or review a product. Then you refer the potential customer just via hoplink to the original page.

CB does NOT have anything to do with hosting or helping you making a page.

You need to do this yourself.

Thebest way is still use your own page but do NOT use the same site and wording..just write your own review/sales page.

Some publishers have resell-rights on their products...that is you can make your own site AND sell the product (offer a download) right off your own site without referring to the original publisher.

CB is really only a retailer/list of all their publishers....so..if you want to ask apublisher if you can use their material (eg. audio-files) ask them (the publisher, not CB) if you can use it on your own site.
