I am building a website for a client and he wants me to have a 90 page ebook written for him to give away free to his website visitors. I personally think he should use the money to have 50 or 60 great articles written up for his site which had hardly any content at all.

    What would you do?

Im just looking for some ideas and suggestions

    Thanks

I would suggest a 20 -30 page teaser ebook to give away and use the rest for articles. The ebook can be used to sprinkle links thru out, submit to some free ebook directories, and if it's good, could go viral.

    Also depends on the topic.

I agree with you that he should have spent the money on articles.

I would say definitly the articles. You can't put ppc ads in ebooks ;)

I hate not adding anything more to the thread, but I agree with the others. A small ebook to give away as an incentive for building an email list and then publish more articles on the site that you can use for generating on going traffic.

The other nice thing about articles is that there are lots of revenue generation methods from embedding links, contextual advertising, etc. The options are limited for ebooks.

Besides most people aren't going to read a 90 page ebook, they may read 20-30 but even that is stretching it I think. Especially if it is FREE, maybe if they had to pay something for it they would read more.
