If you thought the current changes were bad enough, then you better read what's coming.

So hang on, clarify this please for me. There will be no sellers on eBay at all? Or am I missing the point?

Just wondering who will be selling stuff if they wipe out all the sellers.

That would greatly limit the number of products available. Do you happen to know when the cut-off date is exactly?

I know, it's really stupid. Surely buyers consider the risk factor when buying on eBay - it's not a shop, so they should stop trying to make it one.

This is really bad. That means ebay will sell products directly?

I don't think how that will work at all...

Maybe they will add an Escrow system? Hmm...

That would be quite a strange policy and it will drastically bring down the revenues of ebay.

    hahahahahahaha
i almost had to do a double take when reading that..i was thinking no way..

On one of our current affairs programs few weeks back they mentioned the ebay changes (can't remember what exactly they were now) but on report they had a couple of customers and sellers saying that buyers and sellers will end up going elsewhere.

How stupid of them. Why get rid of the one thing that created their success in first place?
I hope ebay falls..falls hard. it's getting too big anyway. I say give the smaller sites a go!

If they wanted to offer shoppers 100% gauranteed non-fraud experience..why didn't they just open a shop?

    One has to wonder..
If they are so worried about fraud..but then how on earth are we gonna trust ebay now?
How are we gonna tell ebay won't defraud us in some way..after all they are in partnership or own paypal...and just look at paypals track history let alone ebay itself.
    Is he snorting something?

eBay should make little "shops" everywhere that people who want to list have to bring the item they sell there. That way eBay can assess the item and make sure it is as they describe and make sure the item does, in fact, get delivered.

Expensive (they can afford it) but surefire way to get rid of this nonsense.

I don't think it is possible for them to replace the revenues from sellers and PayPal with their own products. That would of course be a tremendous opportunity for some other company to step up to the plate with a new auction site.

The whole story sounds like a spoof.

They've been burning down eBay ever since beginning of the year, after Meg left.

I've thought that most of the sellers were selling fake China knock offs since I looked into selling there a couple years ago.

Cleaning up the place is a good idea. It's unfortunate that the sellers have made such a mess of it that eBay feels the need to elimiate them.
