I just recently opened an Ebay store selling craft supplies and while I have put to use most of Ebay's own promotion tools, I am now trying to figure out good offsite marketing methods for increasing traffic to my store. So far I have: 1) Uuploaded my product feed to Google Base 2) Begun a link building campaign to try and get decent search Engine rankings for various keywords (optimizing an Ebay store is a lot harder and to date I don't even know if it is possible) 3) Printed Business cards to include in my shipments as well as give out everywhere and anywhere. Does anyone have any other ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hello there, You don't have much control over the eBay store itself, so optimizing isn't going to do much. Why not get a domain and create a number of keyword-targeted landing pages that point to your store? Think of this as affiliate marketing with your eBay store URL being the affiliate link. The main benefit is that if your shut down your eBay store or want to send the traffic to another URL, you have complete control. Good luck, Ty
Thanks very much, I did register a url just for that purpose. I was thinking of building a nice site with a forum and daily tips and tricks column to and put up ads to my auctions as well as maybe some CJ stuff. Other than SEO, is there anything else I can do to promote my store outside of Ebay?
Try advertising on sites that relate to your stores.. (it's best to market your site online rather than offline because of the larger audience and the fact that it is based online)
