I have noticed that eBay shops have very high rankings for their keywords. Even though they only have few backlinks.. How is this?
ebay stores are sub-directories of and sub-domain of Ebay Ebay.com has a few BLs so does stores.ebay.com I have a PR3 ebay store and it ranks very well I always assumed it was because Ebay and stores.ebay had so many BLs
I have considered buying an ebay store and paying the 50 bucks a month or whatever just getting a link to my domains, just to see how well it works out.
Starts at like $15.95 a month for a basic Ebay Store account < Yes thats my affiliate link but Ebay won't let you just link to any website. Ebay is very protective of their bottom line - they don't want you to get free traffic and then sell an item off your own site. So for instance my Ebay Store doesn't contain a link directly in to my 'sales related pages....BUT it does link to some internal pages - such as: Free HTML Editor and attempt to write a 'case study/article' and some sample/portfolio pages These are jusifiable because they support the items I sell on the Ebay store, and on a side note - the PR passed nicely
I had an ebay scammer use my domain name on ebay one time. Never shipped anything, and I wondered how ebayers came to me. Guy had a link from his ebay store to my website if they had any questions.
I also have a eBay store which is PR4 and ranks very well on all of my keywords. Ebay in fact gives you options to modify and put keywords for your store which really does help you gain high rankings. I love my store on eBay...
