I understate that you get paid a percentage of the eBay fee when a customer buys something through your affiliate link. What about if a customer sales something? Do you still make money?

When I go to the advanced search on eBay and type in my affiliate tracking information and select search, the URL displayed has my traking information. Can I use that URL in a texted/picture link and also get a commission?

Here is an example of what I mean: www.NumismaticForum.com

Just click on the Buffalo Nickel coin.

    Thanks

I do not think you can make a commission on listing fees.

You are making commissions off the seller, not really the buyer. You get half of what eBay charged them to sell whatever on eBay. That is why the higher the ticket of the item, the more you make.

Ever sell anything on ebay? Notice the listing fee difference between starting the auction for 99 cents and starting the auction for $20.00+. The higher the reserve/starting price/etc., the more the seller will be charged, and in turn you will make more.

If the person you dropped a cookie on creates a listing on eBay, I don't think you get any commissions for this.
