Like, in the next day! Is this true? If so then I really can't understand what the point of the liaison was in the first place, and this is going to cause LOADS of problems for people who were signed up to EPN via PJ... Glad I'm not...
yes. just received this I wanted to let you know the eBay program on Pepperjam Network will be paused as of October 5, 2009. eBay has decided to move forward with Quality Click Pricing, a new payout structure designed to further reward the affiliates who drive incremental transactions on eBay and who send valued buyers to their sites. At this time, Pepperjam Network can not support the CPC model. Since you are a valued eBay affiliate through Pepperjam Network, eBay would like the opportunity to work with you directly through their in house affiliate program, EPN. If you are not an affiliate of the EPN program, click here. Please include in your description that you are an active affiliate promoting eBay through PJN. Also, to help expedite this process, please email me the email address you used to sign up. I will pass this on to eBay. For more information on Quality Click Pricing, click here. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your dedicated Pepperjam Network affiliate manager anytime. Sincerely, Mandy
After all that fuss with the withdrawal from CJ, and people turned down by EPN bending over backwards to get on via PJ and now this...
I wouldn't be totally shocked if ebay closes their affiliate program altogether, if ebay is your source of income I'd be pretty worried if i was you!
Oh, I don't think they'll do away with the program, they'll just keep finding new ways to pay affiliates less, like with the new QCP system. The effect is the same though, very concerned affiliates looking for new baskets for their eggs...
Dosn't really matter what they do now, that trust has been broken in the affiliate community they've already destroyed there relationship with a lot of affiliates you can't just go around kicking out quality affiliates then cry when they all leave. It'll happen nobody wants to live in fear of waiting to be kicked out, ebay like to play games and affiliates don't fund it very fun so they'll all go word spreads fast in this industry. We'll see...
Ebay (EPN) are starting to worry me. They were good value up to six months ago. Now - I'm starting to feel like I'm walking through a minefield blindfolded with them. Admittedly, most of my EPN sites are crappy, low-value, thin affiliate sites (yes I know I should build proper content sites), but at this point I'd be wary of using them as the main sponsor of any type of site.
Yes, there is that But EPN shouldn't care about thin affiliate sites as long as they are getting traffic they wouldn't otherwise have got - thin affiliates are Google's problem.
I can sort of see their point, though. Thin affiliate sites are perhaps competing a little too directly for traffic with the Ebay site itself. But Ebay just don't instill confidence in me at the moment. I feel like they've got their hands on the rug that all us affiliates are standing on, and they're getting ready to give it a big tug.
Sure, I think we've discussed that quite a lot before now. I still think that a typical niche site can "catch" traffic that eBay doesn't just by being optimised for the niche in a way eBay is not, but of course it's hard to know for sure... They may have already yanked the rug, we just haven't hit the floor yet..!
Agree with Seqqa. Trust is broken and ePN has no longer a good reputation in the affiliate world. They stopped paying ACRUs but it was still $25/ACRU with PJ. That's probably why they will quit. I made a living of it and yes, I'm worried. The new QPC is good if you sell items at $10 or less. But I wa in cars, so my earning is about 80% less than before. I was bringing $300K/month to ebay's pocket but now I have to stop that. The less I bring to ebay, the more they pay...So I won't be surprised if they'll stop their affiliate at one point...
This makes me laugh. We're gonna chop your dick off... but you'll thank us later when that pesky thing doesn't get in the way of your new hobby as a cyclist. Always doing what is in the best interest of the affiliate. Personally I'm tired of the "spin" corporate America puts on everything. The Truth is always suppressed. This is all about keeping the profits from the Affiliates that were successful at selling big ticket items.
