Strange question, has anyone targeted penny auctions (final sale was a penny)? And has it worked? And what kind of commission would/did you get?
but the seller still pays a fee. Wouldn't you still get part of that? This is in relation to Ebay/connection Junction affiliate program, unless I missed something, is there a minimum sale price to get paid?
Get part of what? I had a friend do it and his ratings got reset because it was abusing the system. He put them out free the day eBay had a special offer for listing free up to .99 If you want to make pennys as revenue I guess you could get into it.
I'm not sure how you would target a penny auction. While a penny may be the opening bid, that amount will change with each bid.
What about Buy it now penny auctions, you can filter for those and you HAVE to pay a fee for that. What ever the commission is, it can't be worse than some adsense ads
I think this could work if you target non existing ebay members. You could sign them up and earn the new member lead commission...
Here's an off the wall idea. How about listing the most expensive auctions on e-bay? Or maybe themost bid on? Is that possible with the rss feed? This could be some eccentric site for laughs AND affiliate marketing.
I will say that all of my RSS Ebay Feeds display only auctions with 2 or more bids on them. I have seen better results with this method.
Well, I got a domain last night for this project, surprised it wasn't taken. I'll report back once the site is online.
I allow users to sort the listings however they want, but the default when they load the page is ordered by number of bids. It assures that the most popular AND (often) the higher-priced lots are seen first.
when the seller do the penny auctions, they are not selling, they are actually buying- feedbacks! paying listing fee is more than a penny so they actually lose money
not all of them doing that. some of them will upsell other more expensive items to the buyer. the penny auctions is just for the lead.

Some sell for a penny to get you to join their mailing lists, then try to sell you more expensive items.
