eBay Partner Network. Ebay dumping Commission Junction! What about CJAffiliate Links?

It's ok to dump CJ - that does not bother me. Here's scary part:

"The new platform will go live on April 1st, 2008 PST, at which point eBay will no longer be running its affiliate program through Commission Junction. Beginning April 1st, affiliates should register with eBay Partner Network and migrate their links from CJ to the new platform."

Am I missing something here? Does Ebay have a plan for moving the PID links to their affiliate network? Any ideas for moving the CJ PID?

Basically, your CJ affiliate links will be active until may. Before May, you must change all CJ Ebay links to their new platform. I am sure Ebay will not be keeping that tracking system, and will migrate to a tracking system of their own. So for the short answer, the CJ PID will be eliminated from Ebay affiliate links.

Fortunately, they're giving until May. I really feel for some of the top eBay affiliates in the interim transition and the short term; there's a lot of work undone by the move and it'll take a lot to change over to the new system for some affiliates. However, I remain hopeful that in the long run eBay will be able to provide a better in-house product for their top affiliates than Commission Junction was able to. More promotions, creatives, coupons, special offers, fexibility, etc. etc. My hope is that ultimately the move will benefit those who have built eBay empires via CJ. Best of luck to everyone.

I was never a fan of using commission junction, now that they are doing an in-house approach I'll probably go back to giving it a stab. Frankly I don't see why a major company such as eBay would use something like CJ in the first place where a large administrative charge is placed on the publishers.
